LEARN TO SKATE
Crusaders Youth Hockey Learn to Skate program begins the weekend after Thanksgiving and runs through the end of February. This is a great introduction to ice skating for kids to learn the basic skills for recreational skating or hockey. Program emphasis is on having fun, and teaching skating forwards, backwards, stopping and turning. Held at the Groton School’s rinks Saturday and Sunday mornings and provides about 24 hours of instruction.
No child is too young or too old to learn how to skate. Some start as early as age two some at age nine, but ages four to six are more typical.
Required equipment for this fun and educational program includes: Ice hockey helmet, elbow pads, shin pads, hockey gloves, and hockey skates.
