The 2015-2016 Tuition/Payment Policy will be posted here as soon as it is available.
2014 – 2015 Season
The Groton Junior Hockey Association (GJHA) Board of Directors would like to remind everyone of the Association’s Tuition/Payment Policy. As GJHA is a non-profit organization, it must fully recover the costs associated with the program. To this end, this Tuition/Payment Policy has been developed to reduce GHJA’s risk associated with the non-payment and/or delinquent payment of tuition fees, and assist to alleviate the administrative/cost burden related to the collection of tuition fees.
In general, tuition has been established to ensure that GJHA covers all of the costs associated with operating the program. A few of the costs associated with operating the program include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Practice ice, skills clinics, league fees, tryouts, equipment, uniforms, insurance, coaching education program (CEP) clinics, annual GJHA Christmas Tournament, and administration.
· Massachusetts District 8 play-downs (Midget, Bantam, Pee Wee, and Squirt) and Jamboree (Mite) fees.
· USA Hockey and Massachusetts Hockey team, coach, and player registration fees.
Please note that teams wishing to participate in a second league must receive GJHA Board of Directors’ approval. All costs associated with participating in a second league, including but not limited to, league fees, registration fees, ice fees, referee fees, etc., are the responsibility of the team.
Outstanding Tuition Balances
NO player will be permitted to tryout for the 2006-2007 season unless all tuition and/or fees from the previous season (2005-2006) have been paid in full. There will be no exceptions made to this policy.
All players must pay a $200 registration deposit no later than the first tryout date for the following divisions (Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, and/or Bantam), and will not be considered registered until this registration deposit has been received. Requests for registration deposit refunds (minus a $75 tryout fee), due to withdrawal from GJHA, must be submitted in writing to the GJHA Board of Directors by May 20, 2006. Upon receiving this written request, the player’s withdrawal date will be established. The time frame in which a registration deposit refund check will be issued may be subject to availability of program funds. No registration deposit refund requests will be accepted after May 20, 2006.
Please note that there are no tryouts for players registering for GJHA’s Learn To Skate (LTS) and/or Mini-Mite programs, nor are they required to pay the $200 registration deposit.
Tuition (excluding the $200 registration deposit) for the 2006-2007 season is as follows:
Pee Wee $800
Families with more than one GJHA participant pay $50 less for each player after the first.

Midget Full payment of $375 is due on or before August 1, 2006
Please note that there will be a $25 charge for each returned check.
The GJHA Board of Directors realizes that on occasion financial difficulties do create issues for families. However, unless prior arrangements have been made for the payment of outstanding tuition balances, GJHA expects that payments for outstanding tuition balances be made on time and in full. Financial hardship requests must be submitted to the GJHA Treasurer in writing prior to the current tuition payment due date(s) and will be granted on an individual case by case basis.
In the event that any player has not paid their tuition in full, or made arrangements for an alternate payment plan with the GJHA Treasurer, by the current tuition payment due date(s), then that player will not receive a GJHA game jersey and will not be allowed to participate in GJHA activities (on-ice practices and/or games) until such time as the outstanding tuition payment has been made in full.
Tuition Refund Requests
Any player wishing to withdraw from GJHA after his or her tuition has been paid in full, must do so in writing, to the GJHA Board of Directors. Tuition refund requests will be granted on an individual case by case basis. Upon receiving this written request, the player’s withdrawal date will be established. Tuition refund requests will be considered only upon written request to the GJHA Board of Directors for cases of illness and/or injury that prohibit the player from participating in the sport of ice hockey for the balance of the 2006-2007 hockey season. No refund will be granted for any reason other than the aforementioned, including, but not limited to, players leaving GJHA to join another organization, whether hockey or not; to play for a high school team; and/or due to dissatisfaction and/or problems with coaches, teammates, ice officials, and/or leagues. Insurance, tryout fees, league fees, and USA Hockey and/or Massachusetts Hockey registration fees are not refundable at any time for any reason. The time frame, in which a tuition refund check will be issued, if approved, may be subject to availability of program funds.
